Friend in need

Could everyone please keep Julie, Austin, and Dax Locke in your prayers.
Julie and I went to high school together and are good friends. I just found out yeaterday that they have been in a hospital in Iowa for 2 weeks, because they found a growth on Dax, her 1 year old son, sinus' very close to his optic nerve and brain. This is what she wrote on her blog.

"On July 16th Dax was admitted at Methodist Medical Center for dehydration and high fevers for 4 straight days. After many tests he was transfered to St. Francis Childrens Hospital for more testing on Saturday, July 19th. After being there for a couple days Dax perked up and since his diagnosis was still undeteremined they told us we could go home. The next day we were admitted again because he had another high fever and he wouldn't stay awake. Within a few days and many tests later we found a mass in his sinus cavity along with bone deteration. After finding that out we were told we needed to go to the University of Iowa to get the biopsy of the mass because it was in a very critical spot. It's located at the top part of his nose right between his eyes. It's farther back in the head near the brain and optic nerve. We arrived at the University of Iowa on Friday July 25th and found out that it was for sure a malignant tumor Saturday July 26th. Now we are waiting for results from the pathologist to determine what type of cancer it is so we can begin treatment. We do know cemo is almost certain and surgery to remove it is off the table. It's roughly the size of a bottle cap filled we think."

They are going through some testing to try and find out if it is leukemia or not. So please keep this family in your prayers.

Thank you,
Jess

USA Olympic Softball Game

Jessica Mendoza

Cat Osterman

Jennie Finch

We attended the Olymic Softball Tour for Bejing in Bloomington last Saturday. They played a National Pro fastpitch team out of the Chicago league that most of the Olympic girls play for, the Olympic Team won 6-0. The second game they played the Bloomington Womens ASA team the Hearts, they won in 4 innings 19-0. It was pretty interesting seeing that quality of physical and mental talent. The Olympic girls seemed to be one up all the time. They were also alot bigger, their three Pitchers were all the tallest ones on the team at around 6'4". It was so Awesome to see women playing at this level. I saw the olyimpic softball team play when I was 14 and I played ASA softball, and Iwas in awe! This time around it was even better. I can't even explain how cool this was for me. THANKS UNCLE STEVE for getting us some of the best seats in the house!!!

Happy Birthday Sarah!!!

Hope you enjoy Sarah's First Solo.

Weekend in Chicago with Abbie

April 12, Matt went up to Chicago for Kory's bachelor party, so I went to hang out with my good friend Abbie that lives up in Chicago. She put together a pub crawl which was a blast! The 1st stop on our crawl was a German Pub that served draft beer in a boot!! As you can see we had a lot of fun with the boots, and the good news is that we did not break the boot, which would have cost $50.00 to replace.

The top is a picture of Abbie and her soon to be husband Matt, next is me with a boot of beer, and the last is a group shot minus Abbie and a few others.
