SAY A PRAYER FOR DAX

As most know and have heard about Dax Locke, tonight we post with a very heavy heart. Dax has been in the hospital for the last week he has been in a lot of pain and today his heart rate dropped. The doctors have said he does not have much time left with his family. He is resting peacefully so we ask for you to pray for the strength for him and family to make it through this time of heartache.

We LOVE you DAX

Logan ate cereal for the 1st time

If you notice the laptop in the pictures while I was feeding him that was because Grammy and Papa Youngman were watching on Skype. Logan did really good with it and he was smiling and talking the whole time :)

Decorate for Dax

Here is a picture of our house decorated for Dax! Dax Locke is the 2 year old son of a friend of mine, he has been given 4-6 weeks to live. He has been fighting leukemia for over a year and has had 2 bone marrow transplants that did not take, there is nothing they can do for him. It is a horrible outcome to a truly inspirational story. Because Dax may not be here for Christmas we are all decorating early. There is a web site that is posting pictures, so if you can get your decorations up now take a picture and send it in to pictures@decoratefordax.com or just check out the decorations on the site www.decoratefordax.com

Last night

So last night Logan's nose started to run then after I layed him down he got all stuffed up, he sounded horrible, so Matt and I were up most of the night holding him or standing in his room listening to him breath, then about 3 am he was sleeping good and sounding better so we went to sleep. So I stayed home and called the doctor, actually I called Hayley to get me in before the doctor even opened, and got an appointment at 10:30. While he was sleeping I started thinking maybe a runny nose is not reason to go to the dr. and I was over reacting, so I called to talk to the nurse and she said with no fever not to bring him in and expose him to all the sick people at the doctor's office. So I guess I freaked out a little and I know he is not even showing the signs of H1N1, but with all the media it is in the back of my mind. Matt came home at 1 so I could work the afternoon, and when I left he was still stuffy but, happy and no fever, I never run to the doctor over a cold and can count on 1 hand the number of times I can remember taking an antibiotic but it so much different when it is your child and you just keep thinking what if.

He's finally here!!!!!!!

WELCOME HOME Logan and Mommy!!!!!!!!!!

After 30 hours of Labor they decided to do a C-Section.

Logan Jay Youngman arrived at 2:35 AM on 8-5-09 7lbs. 4oz. 19.5in long

We went to the hospital on Monday at 2:00pm and they started the induction. On Tuesday at 5:00am they gave here the pitocin that was slowly increased. She was only dialated to 2cm and 80% efaced. At about 4:00pm she was 3cm and decided on the ephideral, that only worked on oneside so she was still in a lot of pain her contractions were consitantly in the 90's and to 100, they were very hard just couldn't get them to stay close enough together and long enough. At 10:00pm she was still in a lot of pain after trying earlier to adjust the ephideral they removed it and did a knew one. Her pain went down but the contractions still had no change. At about 1:00 the midwife came to check her. She immediately made the decision that Jess had had been through enough and has hard as she tried the best for her and the baby was to do aC-Section. After calling the Dr. he was there very quickly and before we knew it little Logan was here.

Yes I was in the operating room with Logan and Mommy, and no they did not have to pick me up off the floor. Even though they did say I looked a little white.

After mom got to see him they took her to recovery and Logan to the nursery where we got his foot prints and they checked him out. At about 7:00am they brought Logan to the room where mom got to feed him and cuddle for awhile. Then at 8:00 the Pediatrician came and took him for a check up and found that his temp was 96 and they were concerned about infection so they sent him to the Level 2 nursery. Where he was kept in a closed crib and was only out during feedings, until 1:00pm on friday. He was on heart and respiratory motor and had an IV in his head while he was in the Level 2 nursery. But after spending only a few hours with us in the room on friday they tested his billirubin and he was borderline at 15 so at 6:00pm they sent him to the level 1 nursery under the UV lights until 8:00am on saturday and his levels were down to 10.

After being checked by the Pediatricians they gave him the ok to go home, so we just had to wait for jess to get checked out. At 1:00pm on Saturday we were able to come home.

They still were concerned about his billirubin count so they sent home health care on sunday to check him. The nurse came and took blood and sent it for testing. We received a call in the afternoon that his count came back good, so all is still well.
