After 30 hours of Labor they decided to do a C-Section.
Logan Jay Youngman arrived at 2:35 AM on 8-5-09 7lbs. 4oz. 19.5in long
We went to the hospital on Monday at 2:00pm and they started the induction. On Tuesday at 5:00am they gave here the pitocin that was slowly increased. She was only dialated to 2cm and 80% efaced. At about 4:00pm she was 3cm and decided on the ephideral, that only worked on oneside so she was still in a lot of pain her contractions were consitantly in the 90's and to 100, they were very hard just couldn't get them to stay close enough together and long enough. At 10:00pm she was still in a lot of pain after trying earlier to adjust the ephideral they removed it and did a knew one. Her pain went down but the contractions still had no change. At about 1:00 the midwife came to check her. She immediately made the decision that Jess had had been through enough and has hard as she tried the best for her and the baby was to do aC-Section. After calling the Dr. he was there very quickly and before we knew it little Logan was here.
Yes I was in the operating room with Logan and Mommy, and no they did not have to pick me up off the floor. Even though they did say I looked a little white.
After mom got to see him they took her to recovery and Logan to the nursery where we got his foot prints and they checked him out. At about 7:00am they brought Logan to the room where mom got to feed him and cuddle for awhile. Then at 8:00 the Pediatrician came and took him for a check up and found that his temp was 96 and they were concerned about infection so they sent him to the Level 2 nursery. Where he was kept in a closed crib and was only out during feedings, until 1:00pm on friday. He was on heart and respiratory motor and had an IV in his head while he was in the Level 2 nursery. But after spending only a few hours with us in the room on friday they tested his billirubin and he was borderline at 15 so at 6:00pm they sent him to the level 1 nursery under the UV lights until 8:00am on saturday and his levels were down to 10.
After being checked by the Pediatricians they gave him the ok to go home, so we just had to wait for jess to get checked out. At 1:00pm on Saturday we were able to come home.
They still were concerned about his billirubin count so they sent home health care on sunday to check him. The nurse came and took blood and sent it for testing. We received a call in the afternoon that his count came back good, so all is still well.

So glad you guys are finally home! I am so excited to finally get to see some close-up photos of Logan. Does anyone else think he looks like Grandpa Jay? I sure do! Love you guys!
I love all the pictures you posted! Awesome little guy you have there. So peaceful and innocent!!! Thanks for sharing the story of Logan's arrival. Miss you and love you guys to pieces. Hold on to that little boy - don't let him go. :)
Grammy and Pa-Pa are missing our boy already! The midwife told us Friday the reason the contractions weren't staying close together was because they were turning down the pitocin because it was stressing Logan and then turning it back up. If we had all known that, those nurses would have had to hold back a couple of grandmas! Although Grandma Ginger was about to take on a few for not getting that doctor there sooner. ;)
Jess was awesome! She deserves an award for all she went through!!
We can't wait until we get to see our boy again! We love you all!!
Yeah! Glad everyone is home and doing well! He is so precious, we can't wait to meet him in person.
Congrats you guys! He looks so sweet...nothing sweeter than holding your own child for the first time. Enjoy every second with him!!
